The Return

Not only does Job reference the Resurrection and the Redeemer, he also prophesies about the second coming of Christ (what I call The Return). "... and at last he will stand upon the earth." (Job 19:25b ESV)

"the LORD, whom ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi ..." (Malachi 3:1b-3a KJV)

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death--even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:5-11 NIV)

Comments:
Wesley, your consistency in your quiet time is encouraging and an encouragement. When do you schedule this? Is it in the morning at night or just when you can do it? Just curious. Are you reading anything in particular (book, chapter, etc.)? I am reading Ezekiel in the evenings and John at night (sometimes :-))

I really don't have a scheduled quiet time. However, I try to make sure I read something out of my Bible before going to bed. The current posts, a reflection of part of my quiet times, developed from listening to Handel's Messiah two weeks ago. As for books, I try to read my Sunday School lesson 4 or 5 times a week. This week since Joe is teaching, I have been reading Galatians (as you know why).
