The Pillars

"He [Hiram] cast two bronze pillars, each eighteen cubits high and twelve cubits around, by line. He also made two capitals of cast bronze to set on the tops of the pillars; each capital was five cubits high. ... He erected the pillars at the portico of the temple. The pillar to the south he named Jakin ['he establishes'] and the one to the north Boaz ['in him is strength']. The capitals on top were in the shape of lilies. And so the work on the pillars was completed." (1 Kings 7:15-16, 21-22 NIV)

"LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us." (Isaiah 26:12)

"The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace." (Psalm 29:11)

"For God, who was at work in the ministry of Peter as an apostle to the Jews, was also at work in a my [Paul's] ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles. James, Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews." (Galatians 2:8-9)

"Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he [God] leave it." (Revelation 3:12a)
