Moving On
Because of the importance of Passover, the Bible is just rich with information about this holiday. However, I am going to move on. But before I do, I am going to list a few of the things I discovered about Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread that you might be interested in and can go discover on your own:
1. Psalm 113-118
1. Psalm 113-118
- Psalm 113 and 114 are sung before eating the Passover meal; Psalm 115-118 are sung after the meal. (see also Mark 14:26)
- These psalms are called the Egyptian Hallel. Throughout the psalms are the words 'Praise the LORD' (Hebrew: Hallelu Yah). This is where we get the word Hallelujah!
- Psalm 118:26 is shouted by the people during Jesus' triumphal entry. (John 12:13)
- Jesus applies Psalm 118:22 to himself. (Matthew 21:42)
2. Ziv
- Ziv is the second month of the sacred calendar.
- One month after the 'real' Passover is a 'make-up' Passover for those who were unclean during the 'real' Passover and, therefore, could not participate. Everything is done the same way. (Numbers 9:6-13)
3. Busy temple
- Read Leviticus 23:8
- Now picture Luke 23:45
