Verse 4
Romans 10:9: “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NIV)
The following are the key words: confess, mouth, Lord, believe, heart, dead, and saved.
Confess: to tell or make known
Mouth: the natural opening through which one speaks
Lord: kyrios in Greek and is used in the Greek translation of the OT to translate Yahweh.
Believe: to accept as true, genuine, or real
Heart: the emotional or moral as distinguished from the intellectual nature
Dead: those who have experienced death (see previous post for death)
Saved: rescued or recovered
