Verse 4

Romans 10:9: “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NIV)

The following are the key words: confess, mouth, Lord, believe, heart, dead, and saved.

Confess: to tell or make known
Mouth: the natural opening through which one speaks
Lord: kyrios in Greek and is used in the Greek translation of the OT to translate Yahweh.
Believe: to accept as true, genuine, or real
Heart: the emotional or moral as distinguished from the intellectual nature
Dead: those who have experienced death (see previous post for death)
Saved: rescued or recovered

Romans 10:9: “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NIV)

Comments:
Also - "confess" comes from a compound Greek work "homo" - same,
"logeo" - to say or announce the message - therefore, "to say the same thing." Jesus is Lord whether we admit it or not - to confess Jesus is Lord, is simply to say the same thing God has said about His Son - He is Lord!
Admit it - believe it - confess it - and you will be saved!

I'm beginning to see so much more, too, of how much salvation is a process. Yes, there is the moment of turning, and once we commit our souls to Christ, they're His, I fully believe, but if we fail to see salvation as an ongoing "being saved," then what's to keep us from making it a one time ordeal with no true transformation. Christ is all about change. That's what being saved is--admit, believe, confess, and be transformed by the renewing of your mind, continually receiving a newer and newer heart and spirit, day by day. Salvation requires growth to be true.
Hello, Wesley, I am still here. I fully confess my strangerness.
